Science Instruction is Making a Difference in Peoria Public Schools

Five District #150 Title I schools have introduced hands-on multi-media science labs over the past year.  Living with Science is featured in the new labs to supplement their classroom instruction.

What is Living with Science?

Living with Science is an interactive program that provides students with an introduction to science and technology.  Living with Science is divided into four main areas:  earth science, physical science, life science and scientific reasoning.

The earth science module addresses topics such as weather, geology, and the solar system.  Physical science topics include sound and energy, electricity and magnetism, light and heat.  Life Science deals with health, plant and animal life and agriculture.  The scientific reasoning module addresses topics such as measurement, inventions and problem-solving.  Throughout the assignments, students collect data and complete worksheets to track progress.
